Very cool 1975 Marshall JMP 2203 Mk2 Master Model Lead 100-Watt Head in Excellent Condition!

Here’s a serious piece of rock history an original 1975 Marshall JMP 2203 MkII Master Model Lead 100, one of the earliest examples of the amp that defined an era. This is the real deal: 100 watts of classic British muscle, dripping with that unmistakable growl, punch, and harmonic roar that made the JMP line legendary.

This one’s in excellent shape for its age remarkably clean, solid, and fully functional. The back panel has been professionally replaced and recovered, but the rest of the tolex and hardware looks original and beautifully preserved. The Marshall logo has been replaced. It’s got all the right patina without any abuse just honest, well-cared-for vintage charm.

Under the hood, this amp retains its original transformers and filter caps, which is a big part of why it sounds so alive and authentic. A few small resistors and minor components have been replaced during routine servicing to keep it healthy and reliable, but the integrity of the circuit remains fully intact. It’s been inspected and biased properly plug it in and it’s ready to go.

Tone-wise, this is exactly what you want from a mid-’70s JMP 2203: raw, articulate, and absolutely ferocious when you open it up. The Master Volume circuit makes it flexible enough for smaller rooms, but crank it and you’ll understand instantly why this model became the blueprint for the JCM800 and beyond. It’s got that chewy midrange, tight low end, and sweet upper bite that just sings with a Les Paul or Strat in front of it.

Cosmetically, it’s a beauty. Gold panel is clean and unfaded, logos and corners intact, knobs all original. Just a few light marks here and there nothing that detracts from its presence or collectability.

This amp has been lovingly maintained, serviced only as needed, and kept in a smoke-free environment. Fully tested, stable, and performing exactly as it should.

An outstanding example of an early Master Model original where it counts, dialed in where it needs to be, and every bit as inspiring as the day it left Bletchley nearly fifty years ago.

As is standard practice with any new arrival in store, this very cool 1975 JMP has been through the trusted hands of our team in our onsite workshop to ensure it is in tip-top shape for its new home and owner!
