PRODUCT DETAILS
Known for endorsing legendary artists such as Keith Urban, Josh Homme & the great Tommy Emmanuel! Maton is the Australian Acoustic Guitar giant that has won the world over since its debut in March 1946 founded by Bill May, a Melbourne-born Jazz guitarist who like many luthiers started his own Custom Guitar & Repair shop in the early 1940s. Maton is one of the few remaining guitar companies that are still 100% family owned and run which they pride themselves on greatly. Their 300+ models that have come and gone over the years have mainly been built and manufactured in the Canterbury factory the company has called home since it was built in 1990.
Our gorgeous 'Electric Custom Jumbo' was built in January of 2008 indicated on the label in its soundhole, The guitar is of course built of all solid wood. A classic Sitka spruce top, Book matched two-piece maple back & sides, a two-piece maple neck, and a deep gorgeous ebony fretboard. The ECJ85 is also loaded with Maton's AP5 Pickup & Preamp system, Grover tuners, & XL Dunlop Strap Buttons. Aside from the very small ding/chip on the headstock here and there (pictured), this pro-grade acoustic is ideal for the guitarist seeking a great deal on a quality-built instrument!
