PRODUCT DETAILS
2012 Gibson Les Paul Signature T Goldtop β "Year of the Les Paul" Special Edition β Original Hard Shell Case. Although these were officially a 2013 model Gibson started to ship these in 2012.
Offered here is a superb Gibson Les Paul Signature T Goldtop, produced as part of Gibson's celebrated 2013 "Year of the Les Paul" range. Combining the unmistakable aesthetics of the classic Goldtop with a host of modern player-friendly features, the Signature T is one of the most versatile Les Paul models Gibson produced during this period.
Finished in an elegant Goldtop nitrocellulose lacquer, this guitar captures all the visual appeal of a vintage Les Paul while incorporating thoughtful updates that make it equally at home on today's stage or in the recording studio.
Our example has been fully inspected and professionally set up in our workshop, resulting in an excellent playing action and effortless feel across the fingerboard. The slim 1960s neck profile is comfortable and fast without sacrificing the reassuring substance that Les Paul players expect. The frets remain in very good condition with plenty of life remaining. This guitar weighs 9.40Lb.
Cosmetically, the guitar displays numerous light marks and small dings consistent with honest use over the years. Minor buckle rash on the back. Nothing is excessive or unexpected for an instrument of this age, and it remains an attractive example.
At the heart of the Signature T is a pair of Gibson's outstanding '57 Classic humbuckers. Wax-potted for excellent feedback resistance while retaining all of their vintage character, these pickups deliver everything players love about a great PAF-inspired design. Clean tones are warm, open and highly articulate, with a rich lower midrange and sparkling high end that never becomes brittle. Push the amp harder and the guitar responds with thick, singing sustain, exceptional note definition and the unmistakable harmonic complexity that has defined the Les Paul sound for generations.
The factory push/pull coil-splitting dramatically expands the tonal palette, producing bright, clear single-coil-style sounds that are ideal for funk, country, pop and cleaner rhythm work. Combined with the chambered weight-relieved body, the Signature T offers impressive versatility while remaining lighter and more comfortable than many traditional Les Pauls.
Fitted with Kluson-style machine heads, this example has all the classic visual charm associated with vintage Les Pauls while delivering excellent tuning stability.
