This is a Limited Edition 2020 Gibson Custom Shop 60th Anniversary 1960 Les Paul Standard Reissue V1 finished in Antiquity Burst.
Produced to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the legendary 1960 Les Paul Standard, the V1 specification represents the earliest examples from the model year, featuring Gibson Custom Shop's painstaking Historic construction methods, lightweight solid mahogany body, figured maple top, hide-glue construction, period-correct plastics, and a pair of Custombucker Alnico III humbuckers.
The V1 differs from the later V2 and V3 versions primarily through its neck profile and cosmetic appointments. The V1 was designed to replicate the slimmer early-1960 specification neck, while subsequent V2 and V3 models reflected the subtle neck shape and top-carve variations seen later in the original 1960 production run. For many players, the V1 offers the most familiar and accessible playing experience of the three.
Tonally, this guitar delivers everything expected from a great Burst-inspired instrument: a rich, vocal midrange, articulate highs, powerful yet controlled low end and exceptional dynamic response. The Custombuckers provide outstanding clarity and harmonic complexity, effortlessly moving from sweet clean tones to classic late-'50s and early-'60s overdrive.
This example formed part of a significant private collection and has seen only a few hours of careful use. As such, it remains in mint condition and is essentially as new. This guitar weighs just 8.46lb.
The figured top on this example is superb and the photographs do not do it justice, it is truly spectacular to behold!
The guitar has received a full workshop inspection and benefits from an excellent professional setup.
