Fender American Series Precision Bass with Rosewood Fretboard 3-Color Sunburst 2005

A fantastic example of mid-2000s Fender USA craftsmanship, this 2005 Fender American Series Precision Bass in classic 3-Color Sunburst is everything you’d want from a great modern P Bass, timeless looks, rock-solid build quality, and that unmistakable punch and authority only a Precision can deliver.

Finished in a beautifully rich 3-Color Sunburst with a rosewood fretboard, this bass absolutely nails the classic Fender aesthetic. The combination of the glossy sunburst finish, tort-style pickguard, and darker rosewood board gives it that instantly recognizable vintage-inspired vibe while still offering the upgraded features that made the American Series instruments so popular.

This particular example is in excellent condition and has clearly been very well cared for throughout its life. Aside from one or two small dings and light scratches along the bottom edge of the body, the instrument presents extremely clean overall with very minimal signs of wear elsewhere. Frets are in excellent shape, hardware remains clean, and everything functions exactly as it should.

One of the standout features on these American Series Precision Basses is the factory S-1 switching system, which adds extra tonal versatility beyond the traditional P Bass setup. Combined with the string-through-body design, this bass delivers huge sustain, tight low-end response, and a really solid fundamental note that sits beautifully in a mix. Whether you’re after warm vintage thump, articulate fingerstyle clarity, or aggressive pick attack, this bass covers an incredible amount of ground while still maintaining that unmistakable Precision Bass character.

The neck feels smooth and comfortable with the kind of broken-in familiarity that makes you not want to put it down. Action is low and comfortable, and the bass plays cleanly all the way up the neck with excellent resonance throughout.

American Series Fenders from this era continue to build a strong reputation for their consistency, reliability, and player-focused features, and this is an exceptionally clean example that’s ready for the studio, stage, or collection alike.
