Ibanez M332WN Transparent Indigo Black 1983

A seriously cool and increasingly hard-to-find piece from Ibanez’s golden-era Japanese production, this 1983 Ibanez M332WN 12-String Dreadnaught is a beautifully preserved example that delivers the rich shimmer, projection, and craftsmanship these early MIJ acoustics have become known for.

Finished in an absolutely stunning Transparent Indigo Black, this guitar has a unique visual character that immediately stands out from the usual natural-finish crowd. The finish shows incredible depth under light and pairs perfectly with the classic dreadnaught body shape, giving it a classy but unmistakably vintage early-80s vibe.

As you’d expect from a well-made Japanese acoustic of this era, the build quality is exceptional throughout. The guitar has been beautifully well kept by its previous owner and remains in excellent condition overall, especially considering its age. There are only a few light surface marks from careful handling over the years, but no significant dings, cracks, or structural issues to note. It presents incredibly well and has clearly spent much of its life properly stored and cared for.

Tonally, this thing absolutely delivers the goods. Big, lush, chiming 12-string character with loads of natural resonance and sparkle, while still retaining warmth and definition across the full range. Strummed chords sound huge and cinematic, while picked passages maintain clarity and articulation beautifully. It’s the kind of guitar that instantly fills a room and inspires you to keep playing.

The neck feels comfortable and approachable for a 12-string, making it much easier to settle into than many vintage examples. Action is comfortable, frets are in excellent shape, and the guitar plays cleanly up and down the neck.

Original hard case is included and remains a fantastic bonus with a guitar like this, both for protection and collectability.

Vintage Japanese acoustics continue to gain appreciation for their consistency, craftsmanship, and incredible value compared to their American counterparts, and this M332WN is a perfect example of why.
