The Martin DSS-17 is a slope shoulder dreadnought built in Nazareth, Pennsylvania and finished here in striking Whiskey Sunset. Crafted in 2021, this all-solid wood acoustic features a Sitka spruce top paired with mahogany back and sides, delivering the dry, open and woody character that has made the 17 Series such a favourite with singer-songwriters and recording players alike.

The slope shoulder body shape gives the DSS-17 a huge, warm low end with a rounded midrange response, while still retaining plenty of clarity and sparkle in the top end. It is a wonderfully expressive guitar with excellent projection, equally at home for delicate fingerstyle work or powerful strumming accompaniment.

Professionally fitted with a K&K Pure Mini pickup system, this guitar is perfectly equipped for live and studio performance. The Pure Mini uses three bridge plate mounted transducers to capture the natural resonance and dynamics of the instrument without the compressed character often associated with undersaddle systems. The result is an open, organic amplified tone with impressive warmth, detail and sensitivity, making it a favourite amongst professional acoustic players seeking a truly natural plugged-in sound.

This USA made Martin is in excellent condition with only a few light surface marks and minor dings visible on close inspection. The guitar has been fully workshop checked and professionally set up here with a superbly comfortable action that makes it incredibly easy to play all across the neck. Frets are in excellent shape and the instrument plays cleanly throughout.
