Lowden 353 “Master Built” By George Lowden Concert Classic Left Hand 2001
This is a one of a kind special commission hand made without the use of factory jigs, by George himself!
Complete with a letter about this build from George which is very interesting including the statement that it is “Class” without being overly flamboyant, we couldn’t agree more. A very impressive instrument indeed.
He has used the very best tone woods for this special guitar. With an Alpine Spruce tap tuned top, and hand selected Brazilian Rosewood “book matched” back, and sides, Hand crafted Mahogany neck and Ebony fingerboard.
It has just returned from the Lowden factory having undergone a full restoration and neck re-set under the supervision of George and it is now ready for a new home,
With this full factory setup this guitar is a delight to play (The owner of Motomusic is a lefty, and he has “kindly” bedded in the new strings!) And the tone is what one would expect, full rich balanced and with 23 years to mature and it will not disappoint.
Some light marks and dings are present but all in keeping with its age, and we are selling it with its original Lowden branded Hiscox case and copies of the two letters from Goerge Lowden, It is also sold with its Lowden service record handbook.
We have a valuation letter from George stating that a build like this would now cost in excess of £20,000, so the asking price is beyond realistic for this fine “one off” Concert Classic guitar.
The top nut is 52mm, the scale is 651.93 mm. The bottom bout is 337mm and the body depth is 100mm,
