The Gibson J-45 Standard has been in the Gibson lineup since the 1940's and is commonly nicknamed by artists as "The Workhorse."
Our 2016 version is equipped with factory-fitted LR Baggs Active electronics and a discreet sound hole-mounted volume and control. This guitar is ideal for stage or studio use.
The J-45 Standard features a solid mahogany back and sides, premium Sitka spruce top, nickel Grover tuners, slim taper neck with a rosewood fretboard with dot inlays, rosewood bridge and a mahogany neck.
The sound is typical ‘45, full of mid-range, perfect for the strummer as for the blues player. Warm sweet, balanced tone. Great for recording and songwriting. An iconic sound which is very different from a Martin Dreadnought.
Our example has some light marks, minor dings and signs of use, There is virtually no fret wear and the setup is very good. Overall, it's in very good condition for its age and ready for a new owner.
These 2016 versions feature nickel Grover Rotomatic machine heads and upgraded electronics, the LR Baggs Element VTC for ultimate plug and play ease, It has scalloped X bracing improved feel thanks to fingerboard edges softened to comfortably fit the contour of the player's hand, a premium setup thanks to the PLEK technology.
