Here we have a rather rare 2016 Caparison C2 Series DEG-E-SSH in a natural finish, a model that doesn’t come up often and carries a bit of added intrigue behind it. The C2 Series was only ever known to have had a single shipment distributed to select dealers, and all examples were built in the FujiGen factory in Japan, something that immediately places it in a more collectible and tightly produced category compared to standard production runs.
Visually, it keeps things clean and understated, letting the quality of the build and components speak for themselves. It’s a refined, purposeful instrument that feels every bit like a precision tool the moment you pick it up.
Construction is spot on, with a mahogany body paired to a bolt-on maple neck and a 648mm (25.5”) scale that keeps everything feeling tight and responsive. The rosewood fretboard is bound in white and fitted with 24 frets and simple dot inlays, striking a balance between functionality and a subtle premium feel. The neck is fast, comfortable, and built for accuracy across the board.
Hardware and electronics lean fully into modern performance. The Floyd Rose FRT-S5000 bridge offers excellent tuning stability and expressive range, while the EMG pickup configuration, two SA single coils and an 81 in the bridge, covers a wide tonal spectrum. You’ll get crisp, articulate cleans, as well as tight, aggressive high-gain tones that stay focused and controlled.
Condition is near mint, with next to no playwear to speak of. It’s been exceptionally well looked after and presents about as cleanly as you could hope for, easily standing out as one of the finer examples around.
It comes complete with the original Caparison gig bag, made by Reunion Blues, offering solid protection in a lightweight format. Between the limited distribution, FujiGen build origin, and high-spec configuration, this is a standout piece for anyone after something a little off the beaten path.
