A classic pillar of the Rickenbacker lineup, this 2011 4003 in Mapleglo delivers the unmistakable look, feel, and tone that has defined countless recordings across decades. The natural finish highlights the beautifully figured maple body and neck-through construction, giving it that iconic visual snap while contributing to the piano-like sustain and clarity these basses are known for.
Tonally, it sits right in that sweet spot, tight, punchy lows, a forward and articulate midrange, and a crisp top-end that cuts through a mix without ever feeling harsh. Whether you’re leaning into aggressive pick playing or a more rounded fingerstyle approach, it responds with authority and precision. The dual pickup configuration offers plenty of tonal flexibility, and with the original bridge pickup cover removed, you get unobstructed access to that classic Rickenbacker bite right where it matters. The cover is not included, but many players prefer it this way for improved playability.
The neck has that familiar slim profile, fast and comfortable, encouraging fluid movement up and down the fretboard. It’s an instrument that feels alive in the hands, equally suited for stage and studio work.
Condition is excellent, showing only light, honest play wear consistent with careful use over time. It presents very cleanly overall, with no issues to note beyond the missing pickup cover.
