Built in 1962 by Fender, this Precision Bass carries all the hallmarks that made early-’60s examples so revered. The alder body resonates with that unmistakable woody authority, while the rosewood slab board adds warmth and depth to every note. The neck carve feels substantial but comfortable, sitting perfectly in the hand with that broken-in familiarity only a true vintage instrument can offer.

This bass is in Very Good condition and does show substantial wear from honest play. Expect visible finish wear, marks, and signs of a life spent making music. Against the classic tort-style guard and chrome hardware, the wear only enhances its vintage authenticity.

Plugged in, it delivers the tone that built genres. The split-coil pickup produces a thick, focused low end with punchy mids and a smooth, rounded top. Notes bloom with authority and sustain, sitting perfectly in the pocket whether you’re laying down Motown-inspired grooves, driving rock lines, or more nuanced studio work. The frets are in great condition and offer smooth, clean playability up and down the neck. The volume pot has been replaced and functions properly, ensuring reliable performance. At some point in its life, a strap button was installed on the lower horn; it has since been removed, leaving evidence of the modification but no impact on structural integrity or playability.

The bass retains its classic visual appointments and comes with both the bridge and pickup covers/guards, along with an additional finger rest, allowing you to dial in the look to your preference. It is housed in a period-correct hardcase that complements the era and provides proper protection.
