Marshall JCM 800 Lead Series Model 2205 2-Channel 50-Watt Head 1985

A fantastic example of the classic Marshall JCM 800 Lead Series Model 2205, this 1985 50-Watt two-channel head is a superb example of one of Marshall’s most recognisable and sought-after amplifier designs of the era. Combining the unmistakable JCM 800 character with a genuinely useful two-channel format, the 2205 offers considerably more flexibility than the single-channel models while retaining the punch, aggression and authority that made the JCM 800 name legendary.

This particular example is in Excellent condition for its age, presenting extremely well with only the expected light signs of use. The iconic Marshall styling remains wonderfully intact, and the amp has clearly been well cared for throughout its life.

The 2205's two-channel design makes it an especially versatile JCM 800. The clean channel provides a strong, articulate foundation, while the lead channel delivers the familiar Marshall drive and aggression, with plenty of gain and harmonic character available when pushed. There's a wonderfully immediate response to the playing, with the kind of dynamic feel and raw valve character that makes these early JCM 800s such desirable amplifiers.
