Kramer SM-1 Vintage White 2010s

Up for sale is a highly customised Kramer SM-1 Reissue finished in Vintage White, transformed by a previous owner into a convincing tribute to the high-performance American Kramers that dominated stages throughout the 1980s. While originally based on the modern SM-1 platform, this guitar has evolved into something altogether different, capturing much of the look, attitude, and spirit of the original "Americana" era instruments.

This example is in Very Good condition and has clearly been built with performance in mind. It shows some signs of use, along with a number of modifications and finish repairs that can be seen in the accompanying photographs. The guitar remains structurally sound, plays exceptionally well, and delivers exactly the sort of high-octane experience that Kramer enthusiasts are looking for.

Much of the original hardware has been replaced with gold appointments throughout, giving the guitar a distinctly custom-shop aesthetic. The currently installed tremolo is a gold Floyd Rose Special, complementing the rest of the hardware and providing the tuning stability and expressive range expected from a dedicated shred machine.

Electronics have also been thoughtfully reworked. The original Seymour Duncan Hot Rails pickups remain in the neck and middle positions, providing plenty of output, sustain, and thick single-coil-sized humbucker character. The bridge position has been upgraded with a Lace Drop & Gain humbucker, delivering powerful, aggressive tones with excellent clarity and articulation. Together, the pickup combination offers everything from saturated lead sounds and tight rhythm tones to surprisingly versatile clean textures.

The guitar has undergone some cosmetic finish repairs during its lifetime, all of which are shown clearly in our photographs. Additionally, it is worth noting that at some point in the instrument's past, a portion of the serial number was partially removed. While enough remains to identify it as a legitimate Kramer SM-1 Reissue, this has been factored into the overall condition assessment and pricing.

What truly stands out is how well the instrument performs. The neck is fast and comfortable, the Floyd-equipped setup encourages all the dive bombs and vibrato theatrics you'd expect, and the guitar resonates exceptionally well acoustically. Plugged in, it delivers the kind of focused, high-energy tones that made Kramer one of the defining brands of the shred era.

The guitar comes complete with a Hiscox hard case, providing excellent protection and making it ready for rehearsals, gigs, or long-term storage.

A unique and tastefully modified Kramer SM-1 Reissue that successfully channels the spirit of a classic '80s American Kramer while offering modern reliability and upgraded components. With its striking Vintage White finish, gold hardware, powerful pickup configuration, and superb playability, this is a serious player's guitar with plenty of personality and stage presence.
