Gibson AJ Advanced Jumbo 2004 - Vintage Sunburst

2004 Gibson Advanced Jumbo – Sunburst

The Gibson Advanced Jumbo is something of a holy grail among acoustic guitar enthusiasts, combining classic Gibson looks with a powerful, beautifully balanced tone. This 2004 example is a particularly fine-looking instrument, finished in a gorgeous Sunburst and offering all the character, projection and musicality that make these guitars so desirable.

Our example sounds and plays every bit as good as it looks. The playing action is really nice and comfortable, making it a pleasure to play across the fingerboard, while the acoustic tone has opened up beautifully with age. Expect a wonderfully full, rich low end, clear and articulate trebles, and plenty of volume and headroom, with that lovely woody character that makes a good Advanced Jumbo such a rewarding guitar to play.

Cosmetically, there is some minor play wear, with light marks and swirls as you would expect from an instrument of this age. Overall, however, it remains in very good condition for 2004. There is some minor fret wear, but plenty of life left in the frets.

A useful addition is the endpin output jack already fitted, providing a convenient option for the new owner should they wish to install a pickup for amplified use.

Supplied with its original Gibson hardshell case.

A superb opportunity to own a genuinely characterful Gibson acoustic with classic styling, a comfortable playing feel and a wonderfully mature sound. Whether you're a fingerpicker, flatpicker, singer-songwriter or simply looking for a rare and interesting top-quality acoustic with real presence, the Advanced Jumbo is a very special instrument.
