A genuine modern classic, the original DL4 brought an extraordinary range of classic delay sounds and a hugely intuitive looper into one rugged, stage-friendly unit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis 2021 example is in very good condition, with no significant marks from use, and everything functions perfectly. It is the original DL4 Delay Modeler rather than the later MkII version, and retains the familiar large-format green enclosure and four-switch layout that made the DL4 such an enduring favourite.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe DL4 offers 16 digital effects, including models based around some of the most iconic delay and echo units ever produced, from tube and tape echoes through to analogue, digital, reverse, rhythmic and dynamic delays. There are 18 factory presets, with three user-programmable channels, along with dedicated controls for delay time, repeats, Tweak, Tweez and Mix. Stereo inputs and outputs make it equally at home on a large pedalboard or in a more sophisticated studio setup, while the built-in Tap Tempo and optional expression pedal connection add further flexibility.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThen there is the Loop Sampler, one of the features that helped make the DL4 so influential. It provides up to 14 seconds of looping time at normal speed, or 28 seconds at half speed, with reverse and overdubbing capabilities.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSonically, the DL4 remains exceptionally useful. The range of delay models means it can move from warm, slightly saturated tape-style repeats and modulated analogue echoes through to pristine digital delays, rhythmic effects and expansive reverse textures. It is equally convincing for subtle ambience behind a clean guitar as it is for more extreme, atmospheric sounds.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe DL4 has been discontinued, with production ending in 2022 and the MkII taking its place, but the original remains a much-loved piece of guitar gear and is still a very common sight on serious players' pedalboards.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is a particularly nice example, in very good overall condition and working exactly as it should.
