Very cool 1984 Vintage Cherry Sunburst Gibson 'The Explorer' CMT with TP-6 Tailpiece and Bound Curly Maple Top in Very Good Condition!
A VERY cool Explorer has just landed in-store! Behold! Our most recent addition to our growing stock of Gibson, This is an iconic 1984 'The Explorer' CMT finished in a beautiful Nitrocellulose Vintage Cherry Sunburst on top of a jaw-dropping one-piece 'Curly Maple' Top! Other features include Walnut/maple sandwich body construction, SlimTaperā¢ neck profile, Maple/walnut/maple three-piece neck construction, Ebony fretboard with dot inlays, Gold-plated Tune-O-Maticā¢ bridge, TP-6 tailpiece, Gold-plated Gibson Deluxe tuners, & Dirty Fingers / PAT No. humbuckers (Bridge - 15.3k / Neck - 15.2k) with a weight of 8.5lb!
This is a gorgeous Explorer that has been very well-kept by its previous owner! Aside from the expected checking on this now 40-year-old piece, there are one or two small chips around the back edges (pictured) as well as a replaced toggle switch & knob (originals included in the case). Otherwise, this is a stunning example of Norlan-era Gibson and is a fine collection piece for the die-hard Gibson & Explorer fan!
As is standard practice with any new arrival in store, this very cool 'The Explorer' CMT has been through the trusted hands of our team in our onsite workshop to ensure it is in tip-top shape for its new home and owner!
Our 1984 Vintage Cherry Sunburst Gibson 'The Explorer' CMT comes with its original Gibson hard case with the aforementioned original replaced parts.
