Gibson Les Paul SG 61 Early Historic Custom Art Historic White 2000

This is a rare 2000 model early Custom Art Historic Gibson Les Paul-SG 61 in White.

The early custom shop division was handcrafted at a separate plant to the main Nashville factory, 657 Massman Drive, by the best luthiers using Gibson's prized timbers "with the most durable, elastic and sonorous qualities" to quote from the 1999 Custom Art Historic catalog.

This rare find has aged nicely, slightly warmer than the pictures show, like an old nitro Olympic white, Perfect frets fingerboard and setup, this guitar has the most amazing 60's slim neck. The top nut is 43mm. It really is a player and we have given it a full workshop check over.

This is a really nice instrument to play, the neck is quite slim at the top end, and then gets chunky It weighs 7.75Lb

The humbuckers are "Patent Applied For" Classic, they deliver the sound that players crave. And with its Lyre tailpiece and trem, there is no neck dive that some SG owners struggle with after they have read about it on the internet. It's balanced and light as one would expect from a Custom Shop instrument.

Some lacquer checking on the back of the neck near the heel and headstock but all looks as it should and this adds to the vintage appeal of this instrument.
