Gibson Hummingbird 60's Re Issue 2023 - Heritage Cherry Sunburst

An exceptional example of the Gibson Hummingbird 1960’s Re-Issue, finished in stunning VOS Heritage Cherry Sunburst and built in 2023 at Gibson’s Bozeman, Montana facility. Faithfully recreating one of the most sought-after square-shoulder acoustics of the golden era, this Custom Shop Historic model features a thermally aged Sitka Spruce top paired with solid Mahogany back and sides, delivering the warm, open and beautifully matured response normally associated with a well-played vintage instrument. Appointments include traditional multi-ply binding, the iconic Hummingbird pickguard, hide glue construction, double antiqued parallelogram inlays, a rounded 1960s profile Mahogany neck and an Indian Rosewood fingerboard and bridge. The result is the unmistakable rich low-end thump, dry midrange and sweet top-end sparkle that has made the Hummingbird a staple for professional players and songwriters for decades.

Condition is exceptional throughout and very close to mint, having seen only a few hours of careful home use as part of a private collection. There is no fret wear, no structural or cosmetic issues and the guitar presents beautifully in every respect. The setup is superb with a comfortable, effortless playing action and excellent resonance across the register. Our workshop has carried out a full inspection and health check, and it is ready to go straight into the studio, on stage or into a discerning collection. The thermally aged top genuinely elevates these Historic models, giving a responsiveness and tonal depth that sets them apart from the standard production Hummingbird models.
