The Montana King of the Flat-Tops! We are overjoyed & truly honored to have such a beautiful & limited instrument to offer to you! This is our beautiful 1997 Montana Gold J-200, This was limited to just 250 units worldwide upon its release in 1997.

The Montana Gold was designed by Gibson's master luthier, Ren Ferguson, to salute the skill and spirit of the guitar builders at Gibson in Montana. This Custom Shop J-200 expresses the warm glow of Montana wheat fields with a custom MOP headstock inlay & highly engraved pickguard picturing harvested wheat along with the Montana Gold banner. A special mix was used in the finishing process to arrive at this deep golden finish, it is absolutely spectacular

Our '97 Montana Gold J-200 is in marvelous condition given its 25+ years on the planet. The sound has also matured, it is everything that a J-200 should be, full rich, balanced, and a wonderful instrument to play as well as admire.

As you'd expect on an instrument that has been in use that long, there are a few small signs of age & wear with some gold inlay having worn away on the pickguard and some very light oxidization to the gold tuners. However, this is all very minor in the grand scheme of things. This guitar is still in amazing condition!

It features not only the beautiful aforementioned features but also some stunning 'Special Toned Maple' on the back, neck & sides that have some jaw-dropping flame as seen in our images! It has a factory-fitted LR Baggs pickup system for stage or studio use. 

As is standard with any & all new arrivals in-store this beautiful J-200 has been through the hands of our team in our onsite workshop to ensure it still plays & sounds as beautiful as it looks and does not let the Custom Shop or Montana Builders down. It is currently beautifully set up with a low action with Medium-Light 12 gauge strings.

The '97 Montana Gold J-200 comes with its original Gibson hard case as well as Gibson Humidifier System and original case candy!
