Up for sale is a 2016 Fender Player Duo-Sonic finished in the ever-cool Capri Orange, tastefully modified to turn this short-scale classic into a seriously versatile and punchy modern player. Retaining the unmistakable Duo-Sonic vibe while adding some very welcome upgrades, this is a fantastic example for players who want something a little different from the norm.
This guitar is in Excellent condition, showing only light signs of careful use. The finish is clean and vibrant, the neck and frets are in great shape, and it plays exactly as it should.
The original pickguard and electronics have been removed and replaced with a more powerful and flexible setup. It’s now fitted with a Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB humbucker, delivering everything from tight, articulate cleans to aggressive, mid-forward drive tones. A CTS push/pull pot allows for coil-splitting, giving you access to convincing single-coil style sounds alongside the full humbucker punch, making this a far more versatile instrument than the stock configuration.
Tuning stability has also been improved with a set of Fender locking tuners, keeping things solid whether you’re in the studio or on stage. The short scale length keeps the feel slinky and comfortable, perfect for chord work, lead playing, or players who prefer a slightly more compact neck.
The Duo-Sonic has been professionally set up with Ernie Ball Slinky Top Heavy Bottom strings (10–52) and is currently tuned to Eb, giving it a great balance of tension and low-end authority. If preferred, this setup and tuning can be changed prior to shipping to suit the buyer.
