Gibson J-50 2012 - Antique Natural

A superb example of a 2012 Gibson J-50, built to classic Gibson factory specifications and presented here in excellent condition with its original hard case.

This slope-shoulder dreadnought delivers the unmistakable Gibson character, combining vintage-inspired looks with modern playability.

Constructed with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides, the J-50 offers a beautifully balanced tonal profile. The spruce provides clarity and dynamic response, while the mahogany adds warmth, dryness, and a focused midrange that sits perfectly in a mix. The result is a guitar that excels equally for strumming and fingerstyle work.

This example has a few light marks and minor dings all in keeping with a used but cared for 14 year old guitar. No dicernable fret wear and with a lovely easy playing action.

This example benefits from a factory-fitted LR Baggs pickup system, making it stage- and studio-ready straight out of the case. Plugged in, it retains the natural woody character of the instrument with excellent articulation and presence.

The neck has a comfortable profile with a smooth, easy-playing action, making it a joy to play up and down the board. It feels responsive and alive in the hands, with great resonance and sustain.

Tonally, its warm, open low end, clear and slightly rounded highs, and that signature Gibson midrange “thump” that gives chords real authority. It’s a mature, expressive voice that has definatly improved with age.
