1975 Marshall JMP 2203 MkII Master Model Lead 100 – Excellent Condition
A true piece of rock history. This original 1975 Marshall JMP 2203 MkII Master Model Lead 100 is one of the first of its kind – the amplifier that introduced the now-famous master volume circuit and set the blueprint for the JCM800 and countless high-gain designs that followed.
Hand-built at Marshall’s Bletchley factory, this 100-watt head delivers the unmistakable British voice that defined the sound of late-’70s and ’80s rock. Powered by a quartet of EL34 valves with ECC83s in the preamp, it produces that raw, articulate punch and rich harmonic growl that responds beautifully to touch and guitar volume. From crisp crunch to molten sustain, this amp has it all – dynamic, vocal, and utterly alive.
In excellent condition for its age, showing only light wear and honest patina. The back panel has been professionally replaced and recovered; the Marshall logo and input jacks have also been renewed along with selector switches – routine maintenance over the years to keep it gig-ready and reliable. Original transformers and filter caps remain in place, maintaining the authentic tone and feel that make these early Master Models so special. It’s been properly serviced, biased, and tested in our workshop – ready to plug in and play.
Cosmetically tidy with clean gold panel, intact corners, and original knobs. No heavy wear, just the right amount of vintage character.
An inspiring example of the amp that shaped generations of players – from Angus Young and Randy Rhoads to Gary Moore and Slash – the 2203 remains one of the most expressive, powerful, and musically rewarding amplifiers ever built.
As with all vintage arrivals, this JMP has been carefully inspected and tested by our in-house techs to ensure it performs exactly as it should.
