Marshall JMP 1959 Super Lead 2-Channel 100-Watt Guitar Amp Head 1970- Black

1970 Marshall JMP Super Lead 100 Model 1959 is in very good condition and in perfect working order. Recently retubed and freshly serviced, this Super Lead 100 was produced early in '70, and this is one of the original hand-wired units produced before PCBs were implemented around 1973.

The overall circuit is mostly original, with stock Dagnall transformers output/choke. It has a changed, and old mains transformer which looks like a stock Marshall unit.

The majority of the original mustard capacitors are intact in the preamp. All of the pots and sockets are original. Replaced smoothing capacitors and some resistors have also been changed on the hand-wired board. All work undertaken to maintain the amp to a usable and safe standard.

The mains and standby switch, and mains and ohm selector have been replaced, along with a more modern IEC mains socket.

The serial number is 6370A.

This Super Lead 100 has a pure and dynamic non-master volume circuit, everything that you could wish for tonally. At 100 watts, the amp has incredible muscle, power, and crunch, and the EL34 power tube quad has ample power and headroom, while still gaining up beautifully with a rich, churning drive, and the EQ controls famously have a wide sweep for easily dialing in the perfect amount of bark and cut.

Another great feature is that it comes supplied with a quality custom-made flight case.
