The R. Taylor Model 1 was introduced in 2006 as part of a rare and very limited run, designed and conceived by Robert Taylor himself as a showcase for the finest acoustic craftsmanship to ever come from the Taylor workshops. Only a small number were produced, each one built by a select group of master luthiers in a dedicated shop-within-a-shop at Taylor Guitars, separate from the main production line. This was Robert Taylor’s vision of creating an ultra-premium, boutique-level guitar under his own name—something distinct from the standard Taylor range. Number 64 in this limited series, the instrument offered here represents one of the most desirable and collectible acoustics of its era.

This Model 1 features carefully chosen tonewoods of the highest grade: beautifully flamed maple back and sides paired with a finely aged spruce top, delivering both visual elegance and tonal richness. The condition of this guitar is excellent, with only a few small playing marks that are entirely in keeping with its age and gentle use. There is no fret wear, the setup is superb, and the playability is exceptional.
