Pearl LPC "Lawsuit" Les Paul Custom MIJ 1980's - Tobacco Sunbusrt High Gloss

This is a 1980's "Lawsuit" Pearl Les Paul Custom finished in Tobacco Sunburst!

Building an economy on the back of someone else's designs and intellectual property was all the rage back in the 70s and 80s, don't you know. We can forgive the Japanese almost anything here, as we love their motorbikes; they were better, faster, more reliable, and even cooler in many cases. And we particularly love nearly all MIJ guitars here at Motomusic, and you may have noticed this if you follow our store.

Bound back sides and headstock. It has a volute on the back of the neck like the LPC's for that period too. Stop tail and Tune-O-Matic, super quality machine heads. Some small marks and chips, but nothing nasty. It looks like there has been a repair undertaken to the treble side headstock binding in the past. Some fret wear but loads of life, and the setup is very good.

"I thought they just made drum kits", you thought, hell no! Is this what really happens when a drummer makes a guitar? I have no idea, really. But I do know it's very nice, absolutely knockout quality. The detail is so good, and the build is excellent. And some of the best guitarists I know are also drummers, so this all makes perfect sense to me. It could also have nothing to do with the Pearl drum company, I just can't be bothered to look into this any further. I have, however, been to the Pearl factory on two occasions, and they were very hospitable, and they all looked like they knew what they were doing.

So to sum up, it's a superb copy and deserves a closer look.

Sold with a good quality semi-flight case, it does its job, but the carry handle is broken.
