PRODUCT DETAILS
Fender Mustang, Fullerton USA, 1978 — crafted during the final years of Fender’s original Fullerton era. Introduced in 1964 as part of Fender’s student model range, the Mustang quickly gained a cult following for its short scale, unique offset body, and versatile switching system. By the late 1970s, these models had found favour far beyond beginners, becoming a go-to for players seeking distinctive feel and tone.
This example, built in the Fender factory in 1978, wears its history proudly with numerous small chips and dings, all honest signs of decades of music-making. Minor fret wear is present, but following our full professional workshop setup, it plays effortlessly with exceptional intonation and responsiveness. Tonally, it delivers the trademark Mustang snap and chime, with a focused midrange and airy top end—equally at home in clean surf tones or snarling indie grit. Notable users have included Kurt Cobain, Adrian Belew, and Liz Phair, cementing the Mustang’s place in alternative rock history.
Includes a non-original hard shell case. Available to view by appointment only; all instruments are handled exclusively by Motomusic staff. We welcome quality part-exchange proposals and offer fast worldwide shipping. Contact us for further details.
