Manuel Reyes Flamenco 1970 - Natural

This is a very rare Manuel Reyes flamenco guitar from 1970, built during the period widely regarded as the pinnacle of his work.

Manuel Reyes guitars are celebrated for their unmistakable flamenco voice: dry, immediate, and powerfully percussive, with exceptional note separation and explosive attack.

The use of top-grade German spruce for the soundboard and select cypress for the back and sides, combined with Reyes’ traditional Andalusian craftsmanship, results in an instrument of outstanding projection, clarity, and rhythmic authority. The trebles are brilliant and cutting, while the basses remain tight, focused, and responsive, making this guitar exceptionally well suited to professional flamenco performance.

Reyes guitars have long been the instrument of choice for many of the great legends of the flamenco world, and examples from this era are extremely scarce on the second-hand market.

This guitar was purchased new by its original owner and has seen decades of use. It has undergone several repairs over the years, most notably to the sides of the guitar. It remains playable in its current state; however, players seeking very low flamenco action may wish to consider a neck reset. We are able to arrange this work for the next owner if required, at additional cost.

The machine heads have been replaced; the original tuners are included and remain in the original case. The case is functional but does have a broken hinge.
