This 2022 Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster, finished in the timeless Black finish affectionately known as “Blackie,” is a faithful tribute to one of the most iconic guitars in rock and blues history. Clapton’s original “Blackie” was famously assembled in the 1970s from parts of several late ’50s Stratocasters, and went on to be his primary instrument for over a decade. Fender’s Artist Series recreation captures the essence of that legendary guitar while offering modern refinements designed to meet the demands of professional musicians. Key features include a soft “V” maple neck that echoes Clapton’s favored vintage profile, a trio of Fender Vintage Noiseless™ pickups for classic Strat sparkle without hum, a 25dB active mid-boost circuit to push the guitar into creamy sustain or thick, driven tones, and a blocked American Vintage synchronized tremolo for rock-solid tuning stability and sustain.

The guitar offered here is in excellent condition overall. Aside from some very light playwear and a tiny finish chip in the neck pocket, it presents beautifully and plays exactly as intended. Our in-house workshop has inspected, set up, and tested the instrument to ensure optimum performance for its next owner. Frets are clean, the electronics are working flawlessly, and the guitar is ready to be played on stage, in the studio, or at home.
