1997 Fender American Standard Telecaster – Brown Sunburst – Very Good Condition!

Up for sale is a classic 1997 Fender American Standard Telecaster, finished in a rich Brown Sunburst with a maple fretboard a no-nonsense, USA-made workhorse from a great era of Fender production. This is the kind of Tele that delivers everything you want: familiar feel, unmistakable tone, and just the right amount of honest wear.

Condition-wise, this guitar sits comfortably in Very Good shape. There is cosmetic wear and tear throughout small dings, surface marks, and general playwear consistent with a well-used but well-loved instrument. There is also some lacquer separation around the fretboard inlays, a fairly common cosmetic issue on guitars of this period. It’s purely visual, stable, and does not affect playability or structural integrity in any way.

The neck has that classic late-’90s American Standard feel comfortable, familiar, and easy to get along with. Frets show normal wear for the age but plenty of life left, and the guitar plays cleanly up and down the board.

The original factory pickups have been replaced with Seymour Duncans, giving this Tele a noticeable tonal upgrade. Expect strong output, great clarity, and a slightly more modern edge while still retaining that unmistakable Tele snap, twang, and bite. It’s a very usable, gig-ready setup that works beautifully for everything from clean country and blues to driven rock tones.

This Tele comes complete with the original Fender “Red Label” hard case, a great period-correct bonus and increasingly hard to find on its own. The case is solid and does its job well, making this a safe and complete package.

Overall, A well-played, great-sounding ’97 American Standard Telecaster with upgraded pickups, classic looks, and genuine vintage character. Not a museum piece, but a proper player’s guitar with mojo, reliability, and all the tone you’d expect from a USA Fender of this era.
