PRODUCT DETAILS
Up for grabs is an early 2000s Washburn Flint Hill WD52SW dreadnought acoustic, and it’s about as close to a time capsule as you’re going to find without a DeLorean involved. This one has clearly lived a very easy life. We’re talking near-mint territory, with only the faintest signs of handling, light surface wear at most, the kind you have to go looking for in the right light.
What really sets this example apart is the originality. It still has some of its factory protective plastics in place, along with point-of-sale stickers that somehow survived the past two decades. That’s the kind of detail collectors and enthusiasts love to see, and it speaks volumes about how little this guitar has actually been used.
The WD52SW model is known for delivering that full-bodied dreadnought voice, plenty of low-end warmth, clear mids, and a top end that rings without getting harsh. It’s the kind of acoustic that feels equally at home with a heavy strum or a lighter, more articulate touch. Everything about this one feels tight, lively, and well-preserved, just as you’d hope.
Neck feels great in hand, comfortable and familiar without any surprises. Frets are in excellent shape, showing minimal wear, and the guitar plays cleanly up and down the board. No issues, no excuses, just a solid, well-kept instrument that’s ready to go.
Rounding it out is the original Washburn hard case, which fits the guitar perfectly and keeps everything period-correct. It’s in great shape as well and does exactly what it should.
All in all, this is a standout example of an early 2000s Washburn dreadnought that somehow dodged the usual wear and tear. Whether you’re a player looking for a reliable acoustic with some vintage charm or a collector who appreciates the little details, this one checks all the right boxes.
As is standard practice with any new arrival in store, this very cool Washburn has been through the trusted hands of our team in our onsite workshop to ensure it is in tip-top shape for its new home and owner!
