2001 Gibson Left-Handed Dove – Vintage Cherry Sunburst
A fine example of a 2001 Gibson left-handed Dove in Vintage Cherry Sunburst, built at the Gibson Montana factory during a highly regarded period of production. This guitar features a beautifully figured flame maple back and sides, matched with a Sitka spruce top, and is presented in excellent overall condition.
There are some signs of use and light playing marks, entirely in keeping with a carefully played and well-maintained instrument. The frets are in good order, the setup is excellent, and the guitar plays comfortably across the fingerboard.
Tonally, this Dove delivers exactly what serious acoustic players expect from a maple-bodied Gibson. The sound is clear, open, and well balanced, with strong note separation, a warm but controlled low end, and a focused midrange that projects exceptionally well. Over time it has opened up nicely, offering a sweet, articulate response suited to both strumming and fingerstyle playing.
The guitar is fitted with a factory-installed LR Baggs pickup system, making it equally suitable for stage or studio use.
The flame maple wood set is particularly striking, and overall this is a superb example of a left-handed Dove for the player seeking classic Gibson tone, build quality, and visual appeal.
It has its original case, all original paper work.
